I have lusted after a few land yachts but don't have any. The list would
be something like, an MB 300SD, a 2011 Crown Victoria, or Mercury Grand
Marquis, or Lincoln Town Car, or probably last but not least one of the
mid 60's Lincoln Continentals with the suicide doors. I don't need
another car and I have no place to park it but that doesn't stop me from
wanting them.
As to boats, we have a cottage on lake front property so we feel a need
for boats. So far we have 4 but really mostly use the one. It is a 19
foot fibreglass bowrider with a MerCruiser Stern Drive so it has not
been without expense. We have put $2 to $3K into parts in the past few
years but thankfully my younger son is a journeyman mechanic and has
provided the labour. We have had the outdrive off twice in a few years
to replace the water pump and anodes and then a second time to replace
the gimble bearing, rubber bellows and the trim sensors.
However the boat is a 1995 so more than 20 years old and we did not buy
it new. Our investment is pretty reasonable so far.
