In our case there was already a dedicated circuit for the oven cutout which had been shut off when the gas oven was installed, we’re thinking, so no installation for power necessary. I can’t speak for other brands, but most, not all, posts and pans will work
on them. There’s actually a “mode” where you can take a pan, fill it with about 1” of water, and put it on the “burner”. There’s an indicator showing burner power that’s like a horizontal bar graph. It will light up and show how much power is being transmitted
into the pot. If it’s not conductive at all, it will indicate it by multiple beeps. Nice feature.

Again, our Samsung range will allow you to be off-center with the cookware a small amount, maybe 1/2” or so, and you can lift or slide it around (think omelet) without affecting the burner operation. If you do take it off more more than a prescribed period
of time (maybe 10-15 seconds) the burner will shut off.

I’m sure a lot of variables come into play here, but I’ve found it no more difficult to use than any other range/cooktop regardless of the power source. And if you have the proper cookware that’s designed for induction use, and most are these days, the
performance is pretty amazing.

Does that mean you are not a fan of all gas cooking appliances?

If so, what are your reasons?
