</head><body text="#000000">Well, they were made in Brazil. He got that
right.. They were not grey market. MB/DB first toyed with buying
White in 1973/74. Then they signed up existing truck dealers to sell
the 1113. 1116, and 1316 Brazilian trucks in the late 70/early 80s. I
am not sure when that ended. In Dees Moines, Housby Mack was the
dealer. I think Bob Nible was influential in that. He and Virginia
had the first 1113 in the region in 1972 or so. THey used it for mail
contracts. Both Bob and Ginny drove it, day and night. Bob bought a
1974 white with an MB engine. I saw the engine in his basement years
later with well over a million miles. MB had torn it down and found
everything factory spec, and put it back together. The rest of the
truck was worn out and was junked. Bob and Ginny has the first 300SD i
saw, and later the first SDL. That influenced my decision in 1999 to
buy a used SDL. Still the best car I ever had. <br>

Bob and Ginny had several of the Brazilian MB trucks and grew the
business with them. <br>

I believe the 1113 engine was OM352. (if memory serves.)<br>

Later on, MBUSA/MBNA dropped these trucks (in the USA) and bought
frightshaker.<br>

Everyone of us NEEDS one of these, and this one appears to be in nice
shape. UNfortunately, few of us can afford one or have a place to keep
one. Okie Benz original and Okie Benz East might be able to swing
it. Dan needs this to replace his ML.<br>
