[MBZ] Becker Grand Prix Stereo Re-set Code

Howdy -
I found a 4 digit number on the Becker Stereo Owners Manual that came with 
my used 91 300D.  Since I bought it from a used car dealer who said "he had 
a room full of manuals and would out a set together for me" I cannot be sure 
the code handwritten on the cover is for *my* MB.

Is there anyway to check the code without disconnecting power and actually 
*needing* the code??
