Howdy -
I'm going to buy the 300D I wrote for your opinion about. I considered
buying Donald Snook's but dragged my feet and missed out. This one seems
very nice and sounds like it'll be head & shoulders above my 240D - it'll be
for my wife to commute to work in - 55 mi each way. We'll need to add a CD
player but that's a small thing. She likes driving the 240D but the noise
and lack of acceleration is something she would want to avoid in our next
purchase.
One thing, we'll be driving it back about 300 miles and I need to put a list
of spares and tools to take for the pickup.
here's what I'm starting at:
fuel filters
belts
Now I'm lost -
what do I need to carry just in case? I'm pretty mechanical (rebuilt my
240D engine) but working alongside the interstate is not my cup o tea. I'd
probably call 1-800 Mercedes for help for most things. But, I may be in a
position to fix some stuff. What should I carry with us??
TIA -
Sincerely,
Larry T ('74 911, '67 MGB, 78 240D, 92 300D 2.5- soon)
